The photo above depicts restoration of R/C airplane. The big picture problem is the lack of missing parts. Solving this partially or completely is important because you should understand the system of R/C airplane. This tutorial shows you how to restore R/C airplane with given materials and takes approximately 5 hours to complete.

Motivation and Audience

This tutorial's motivation is to restore R/C airplane. Readers of this tutorial assumes the reader has the following background and interests:

* Know how to build up R/C aircraft
* Perhaps also know how to keep calm and carry on.

The rest of this tutorial is presented as follows:

Parts List and Sources

1. Materials in the box(given)

Construction

This section gives step-by-step instructions along with photos to restore R/C Airplane. The followings are the Acrobat file of the same schematic. - Link 1 : Manual with pictures, no description. http://plawner.net/4/easystar/m_easystar_bilder.pdf - Link 2 : Manual without pictures, but description. http://plawner.net/4/easystar/m_easystar_5sp.pdf

Step. 1 Mount Motors

* The motor was not big enough to fit in the motor space, so I screwed a motor supporter, then arrange it in '+' shape. Afterwards, I press the edges into the frame. If the motor is not fitting, try to use a cutter to cut little hole for help.>

Step 2. Motor and ESC Connection

* You can see some small spaces for Motor wires, put the wires into the spaces then connect them with ESC. The way to connect between Motor and ESC is decribed below. if you finish, make sure to use electric tape to bind&cover for the next procedure.

- Connect the motor to ESC with the direction you remember from propeller connection as the followings above. The direction of the motor rotation must be matched to the one of the propeller.

(Ref2-http://www.dronetrest.com/t/esc-to-motor-connection-guide-how-to-reverse-your-motor-direction-the-easy-way/1297)

Step 3. Mount Servo motors

*Connect one direction servo arm to the servo, then put it into servo motor space, which is on the side of Airplane frame. Then, put wire into a hole to go though inside for connection with Radio receiver.

Step 4. Connect to Radio Receiver

* As you can see here, you have to know what/where to put. You have two servo motors for elevator&rudder and one ESC for Throttle.

* Connect the wires to the receiver. please do check more than twice.

Binding ESC with the transmitter

-Here's youtube link as reference. if you are using different transmitter, type 'Name of the transmitter + Receiver' on Youtube. You can easily find a video for binding.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DyMtlj2eaks

Step 5. Servo motor and Wing Horn connection with the steel wire

1. Put steel wire into plastic tube.

2. Put the material from 1. into bigger plastic tube. You are going to get 1 pair of them.

3. Turn on the transmitter, make the right stick center. That means, you are going to control the servo to the initial mode. So you can make precise adjustment for elevator and rudder

4. Put the edge of steel wire into servo arm.

Step 6. Wire arrangement inside of the airplane

*From the picture, you can see the radio receiver will be inside of the partition and battery wire will be out of the partition. You can arrange it whatever the way you want. but please make sure to use electric tape to the wires.

Step 7. Tail Wing Assembly

1. Here's the material of Horns.

2. Fasten the T-shape horn with a washer and a screw. Screw comes left side for Tail wing and right side for Rudder wing

3. You will find a right fit space for the horns on Tail-wing and Rudder-wing. Bond the horns to the wings.

Step 8. Assembly Airplane frames

*If you arranged the wire well enough, combine both body frames then grab it tightly. Actually the manual tells you should bond the frames, but you don't know what would happen in the future flight. so I want to recommend to tape the frame very tight. Afterwards, put one long leftover plastic tube into downside of the body, then tape it. At last, bond the Tail/Rudder wing part on the body.

* Hold the motor part tightly.

* Fasten a propeller with washer and bolt.

* Bond the carbon fiber tube on one of the wings, then cover it.

* Bond the cover from the wing on the other wing.

* Slide the wing with the tube into the body, then slide the other wing until it attach to another.

* Bond the female locking plate at a slot on the body.

* Put the male locking plate into the pilot space frame.

* Mount the pilot space frome on the body.

Step 9. Wire connection to the horns

* Put the steel wire into a hole of the horn.

* Put a little tiny hexascrew into the hole to fix it.

* Do the same at the Tail-wing part.

Step 10. Mount the batter inside

* Use velcrotape to store the battery. Now you are all set!

Feedback for Easystar 1

As you see the first few video, you can see the 880kv motor can't lift the airplane properly. I searched the proper motor specification online, found that the motor for Easystar1 has 2200kv and about 300w for max power.

-I found those two motors from cabinet, I looked them up online and found they meet the criteria for Easystar1. -To mount the motor, I had to do soldering a couple of lines to connect with ESC that we initially used for the airplane.

Final Words

This tutorial's objective was to restore R/C airplane. Complete studying R/C airplane system for the restoration. Once the concepts were conveyed the reader could obtain more knowledge of R/C airplane.
