Week 3

Photo of the week

I went to the strip of Las Vegas last Friday night. There were so many people as the photo of the week. Once again, I thought that Las Vegas is the most entertaining city in the world. I also played gamble, and of course I lost. As I set a ceiling on the amount of money I’d spend, I didn’t lose much money. While playing some card games, I could see what the fun of gambling was, and I realized that people are addicted to it because of this fun.

New person (outside of DASL) that you met

I went to play bowling with my American buddy team, and I met some people from other team. We were able to talk a lot and get close while bowling together. Thanks to the program, I can meet many people and do various activities.

What institutional of American/Vegas cultural insight did you learn this week?

While walking around the strip, I saw many different people. Even though they were different in races and languages, but they had one thing in common. They were all smiling and enjoying the city. Looking at them smiling, I thought that Vegas has many things to entertain. It has casino, luxury hotels, shopping, and delicious foods. I thought I should do as much as possible without wasting time in this city.

What did you learn about yourself?

Last Thursday, I broke down Kairos. It was my fault, and I thought I should be more careful before doing anything. I should read and remind cautions with great care and make sure there are no factors that will cause problems. I learned to be more cautious person.

What is the status of your technical projects and what skills did you learn?

I got lessons from my fault. I should disconnect battery after operating electrical devices, I should check components which can cause electrical issues. And also, working on battery is dangerous work. I made talking with ChatGPT system of Furo. After connecting the switch and LED to Arduino, I wrote a code that connects PC, Arduino and ChatGPT using Python. Previously, I used MATLAB for programming. While making the system of talking with ChatGPT, I can learn about Python’s grammar and find that with the proper use of Python's extensions, I can make the code that was complicated in MATLAB simple in Python.
