Week 5 : Cultural Exchange and Creative Projects

Photo of the week

This week, we had an incredible trip arranged by the UNLV International Office to some of the most breathtaking locations, including Zion Canyon, Horseshoe Bend, Antelope Canyon, Grand Canyon, and Route 66. The trip was organized by Jaekun Cho, the Director of International Programs, and it was a fantastic opportunity to bond with Korean interns. We spent time getting to know each other, sharing cultural insights, and building friendships. It was enriching to learn about Korean culture and traditions, adding a new dimension to my experience at UNLV.

Laser-Printed License Plate Covers

One of the highlights of this week was designing and laser printing custom license plate covers for DASL. Working alongside Tommy, we transformed our design concepts into physical products using the laser cutter. The process was both challenging and rewarding, requiring precision and attention to detail. Seeing the final product was incredibly satisfying, as it demonstrated the power of combining creativity with technology. This project not only allowed me to apply my design skills but also gave me hands-on experience with laser printing technology.

Video Production, Arduino, and VESC Configuration

In the lab, I focused on several key tasks. We designed and laser printed license plate covers for DASL, which was a great exercise in both creativity and precision. I also worked on my video production final, creating a 1-minute video about the endurance racing club from my home university. This project allowed me to hone my skills in DaVinci Resolve, Illustrator, and Photoshop. Additionally, we had an Arduino class with Hashim, which added another layer to my technical knowledge. Finally, I continued working on the VESC configuration for the F1TENTH car.
